It is a beautiful engagement for me to be part of ceremonies to mark life events and to help people find their words and meaningful music, to show their love in all guises.
My love of poetry and prose guide me in helping you in the choice of texts and writings to illuminate ceremonies. My study of food and its influence on our physical and emotional lives, connects me to people and often inspires ceremonies in different ways.
I am always seeking out ways to inspire a sense of the divine perfection of our beautiful world and to bring it to each ceremony as an enhancement and an energy that shines light into our lives; be it welcoming babies; exchanging wedding vows or saying farewell to a loved one, at an end of life ceremony.
My belief is that “The longer I live, the more beautiful life becomes” (Frank Llyod Wright). For me, life is a gift, an invaluable currency, and I want to help all to finding a way in their journey through life, in to spending it well.
Life has fortuitously offered me many roles, most importantly being part my loving family and circle of friends. My many professional activities over the years, from Investment Banking and P.R. to Acting and Teaching Speech and Drama, have provided me not only with a rich experience but also a lot of fun!
For the past decade my work as a volunteer community mediator and conflict coach has led me on a path of personal discovery. I have found a great sense of purpose from working with people to transform the conflict they are experiencing into a growth experience and I try to promote connection and collaboration in each situation.
I have a particular interest in the communication technique of Marshall Rosenburg called 'Non-violent Communication'. I have attended trainings and workshops and use these skills in my alternative dispute resolution work. It is also a spiritual basis for beginning to create a world of empathy and compassion, where the language we use is the key to enriching life. Building peace one person at a time is what motivates me.
I am honoured to support people as they celebrate life’s important occasions. As a Life Celebrant I encourage each individual to take ownership of how they mark the significant milestones in their lives. I guide them on this journey and create a ceremony that represents their individuality and values.
And finally, I encourage us all to follow Aldous Huxley's advice and simply 'try to be a little kinder'.
My life’s journey has taken me down many paths, from career guidance counsellor to folklore archivist, radio presenter and Celebrant. How lucky am I !
I feel relaxed and happy surrounded by my family and friends. I feel I have the ability to connect , and make people and clients feel at home and at ease. There’s nothing I enjoy more than meeting new couples, and the anticipation of writing a ceremony that truly gets them. Building bonds is so rewarding ,
For the past 10 years I have practised and trained in Reiki and I have attended workshops in self compassion which is a concept l practice in my life and work. And through my daily practice of yoga, where they say, “only through Yoga is Yoga known", I feel a balance in my life. I am passionate about the way, we all show up in this world and believe we have many choices in order to achieve that.
Ceremonies and celebrations that represent who we are, is now more important than ever
The stars were aligned when I met my husband, the love of my life. And lucky for me the stars have remained aligned as I navigate the journey of life and all that it brings. Being fortunate enough to live beside the forty foot in Sandycove, I start each day with swim in the sea a daily ritual that both invigorates and calms me, but most of all allows me that precious moment to be at one with nature, whether alone, with family, friends or with a group of people. My love of nature extends to my garden which reminds me of not just the wonder of nature but the connection and diversity within and the universal bond that connects us all.
I love dogs, Labrador dogs, so much so I breed Labrador Retrievers. As an active member of the Irish Therapy Dogs my Labrador Lexie and I spend time in the community, connecting with people who live with day to day challenges and to watch Lexie interact and bring moments of tenderness, contentment and happiness is sheer joy.
My other love is music the universal language understood by all. My musical expression comes through my choral singing and celebrating those precious moments when our harmony is just right.
As an experienced Life Celebrant I embrace all values, all cultures, all beliefs and believe that each person has freedom of choice and each person’s spiritual journey is their own, individual and unique.
With over 30 years’ experience running my own food, event and retail business I am a calm and guiding hand for all gatherings, all Life Ceremonies, all rituals, no matter where no matter when.
